"How do you keep beautiful, healthy hair during menopause?

By building good habits and using gentle, nourishing, and hydrating products.

I invite you to discover the Recréer System damaged hair treatment by Luc Vincent."

Menopause is a transitional period in our lives that typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. During this time, the body undergoes a series of significant hormonal changes that can affect many aspects of women's health — including the health of our hair.

How does menopause affect our hair?

One of the main reasons women's hair can lose its beauty during and after menopause is the decline in estrogen levels in the body.

As estrogen levels drop during menopause, keratin production can decrease. Keratin is a vital protein that makes up the structure of hair.

This can leave hair thinner, drier, and more fragile — making it look and feel less healthy. Some women also experience hair loss or have difficulty growing their hair, which is my case because mine became prone to split ends and breakage.

TRY THE RECRÉER SYSTEM

The Recréer System by Quebec hairstylist Luc Vincent is a complete haircare regimen specially designed to help restore the health and beauty of damaged or weakened hair.

Developed over 5 years by Luc and his team of chemists, these products contain nourishing ingredients such as keratin, argan oil, coconut oil, vitamins, and minerals that help strengthen hair by nourishing it from within. This haircare routine improves hair texture and shine while reducing breakage and hair loss.

Anyone can use these products, including those of us with colour-treated hair like me, and those with white or grey hair. In fact, the products in this system help maintain and improve the health of coloured hair by reducing damage caused by dye and protecting hair from the harmful effects of the sun, pollution, and other environmental factors.

How to use the Recréer System?

It's very simple — it's a three-step haircare treatment that includes the Repairing Shampoo No. 1, the Mask No. 2, and the Protective Conditioner No. 3.

Start with the shampoo, which gently removes oils and impurities.

Next, apply the reconstructing treatment mask and leave it on for 7 to 10 minutes maximum.

Rinse thoroughly, gently squeeze out excess water, and finish with the leave-in protective conditioner. It helps detangle hair and adds shine, while also acting as a heat protectant for your styling tools.

Why I love these products

My hair has been dry and brittle for a long time — because I colour it myself, because I swim in chlorine-filled pools, and it's gotten even worse since menopause.

On top of that, it was always tangled and I was losing so much hair every time I washed it.

From my very first use of the Recréer routine, my hair regained its softness and shine.

Since I've been using this protocol for a few weeks now, I've realized I only need to apply the mask every two weeks.

For my other washes, the shampoo and protective conditioner are more than enough. Between shampoos, I love applying the Vegan Keratin Serum (a blend of sunflower oil and plant-based keratin) to my lengths and ends for even more shine.

And you'll laugh at this — I'm trying to get used to sleeping with the Pure Silk Night Bonnet, which helps hair retain moisture and eliminates breakage caused by friction with the pillow.

I absolutely love this haircare routine — my hair is soft, supple, and shiny again… ideal for healthy hair during menopause.
